In the market to buy a new home?

Chances are you're not sorting your findings on Zillow or Realtor by highest to lowest price. But don't worry, the Caller-Times did that for you.

The national mortgage interest rate for buying a home has more than doubled from an average of 3.01% for a 30-year fixed loan in September 2021 to 6.7% this September, according to the government-sponsored enterprise Freddie Mac.

In April, real estate agents said the COVID-19 pandemic caused historically low interest rates, and the increases were more of a "normal" level. At the time, rates were 5%. It is widely expected that mortgage interest rates will continue to increase even more this year.

While the following homes might be a bit out of your range, it's nice to dream. Take a look at the top 10 most expensive houses for sale in the Corpus Christi area.
