What do you do when you buy too much stuff to furnish your new house? Hold a garage sale.

And that's sort of what the Hotel Drover is doing to get rid of a few odds and ends that didn't make the cut when the luxe new Stockyards property opened a few months ago. After all, the hotel was decorated during the pandemic last year, with most items being picked out and purchased online, Drover management said in a walk-through interview of the hotel before it opened.

Since early June, the Drover has been selling unused furniture, fixtures, and decor including mirrors, lamps, and chairs to the public. (And props to them for not just finding the nearest trash bin.)

One last sale will take place this weekend: 9 am-5 pm Friday, July 9 and 8 am-4 pm Saturday, July 10 at the Cowboy Church space within Stockyards Station, 140 E. Exchange Ave., Suite 213.

"Join us at this last call decor sale and bring a piece of Hotel Drover home with you," says an email. "Shop custom furniture, curated artwork, and unique accent items, while supplies last."

All items for sale are listed here, and any dings or broken pieces are noted.

Most of the furnishings fit Hotel Drover's signature rustic-luxe style, but they're also selling some practical items, like landscaping controller boxes and boxes of fountain submersible lights.

And there are some real bargains in the mix.

The fine print: Cash and credit cards will be accepted, and all sales will be final. There will be no holds, and items purchased must be taken at the time of sale, they say.
