SHE wanted a cute planter for her house.

But instead of forking out for a designer one, one woman decided to save herself some cash by making her own - out of a bamboo bath mat.

French interior design fan Victoria took to her Instagram Reels to share the process of making it.

After grabbing it from her local store for just 4.99 Euros (£4.20), she took the bath mat home and used a glue gun to stick the horizontal edges together.

Once it had formed a cylinder shape, she placed the potted tree inside and stood back to admire her work.

"A little trick if it can give you an idea," Victoria captioned the video.

She was quickly praised for the design hack by others on the Instagram Reel.

"Very nice, great idea!" one person wrote.

"Thank you very much for sharing," another added.

While a third commented: "Simple and efficient".

Despite the fact that bamboo bath mats are slightly more expensive here than in France, there's one available at Asda for £9.

Victoria frequently shares her homemade DIY projects on her Instagram page.

And she was also praised after sharing her transformation of some wooden rings and dowel rods into a cute and stylish lamp shade.

"I've been looking for the same style for a while now, and I can't find it so why not make it?" one person commented on the Instagram video.
